This Year at the Book Sale: Calling All Sci-Fi Lovers

We're excited for the Annual Booth Library Sale here at Newtown Patch, and even more excited when Friends of the Library members happen to mention a huge selection of tie-in books from classic sci-fi series like Star Trek, Star Wars and Doctor Who. If you're a sci-fi fan too, you'll want to be there July 13 to snag some of these great vintage paperbacks. As Friend of the Library Toni Earnshaw posted on our boards:

"This year a large collection of "Star Trek" material (well over 100 pieces) including companion books in paperback and hardcover covering the Original Series through The Next Generation, Deep Space Nine, Voyager, and Enterprise was donated for the sale.  Also included are Star Trek comics, graphic novels, and Official Star Trek Fan Club  magazines in very good condition, as well as companion books to the early years of DR. Who especially the Tom Baker years.  The well regarded Farscape series is also available on DVD."

We'll be featuring more interesting selections from the upcoming sale in the days before the 13th. In the meantime, read about one choice selection -- a $1,500 first American edition of The African Queen, this year's star among the sale's extensive list of rare books available.
