Questions About Sandy Hook School? Town Provides Answers

"Why did the task force recommend using the current site instead of a new site?"
"Why did the task force recommend a new building vs. a renovation?"
"Do we need to hold a town referendum to approve building a new school?"

Many residents have been asking these and other questions about the future of Sandy Hook Elementary School after the town's task force voted to recommend tearing down the former school, unused since Dec. 14, and rebuilding a new school in its place.

Now the Town of Newtown has released a FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions) sheet with the officials answers to many residents' questions.

The FAQ address those questions and more, including both short- and long-term steps for the future of Sandy Hook school, links to videos of the task force meetings and the desired completion date for the project (late in the 2016 school year.)

In addition, the town says it will provide updates through various online and real-life means, including the town of Newtown's new Twitter page.
