Lisa W. Romano has lived in Newtown for 9 years with her three children, and they are active members of Trinity Church and Suzuki Music School. Lisa also works as a Realtor in the area for Coldwell Banker. Before moving to Newtown, she resided in Monroe, Ridgefield and Redding.
Before all of that, though, Lisa began her journalism work in college, where she wrote for the newspapers at Mount Holyoke College (from which she graduated), Bowdoin College (where she spent her junior year) and UMass Amherst (as a Five-College correspondent). Lisa then attended journalism school at the University of Illinois, where she focused on political coverage and also joined up with ABC Sports, doing freelance production work at college events, the Super Bowl, and the Olympics in France. When she returned home to Redding, her hometown, Lisa focused on community journalism as a reporter and assistant editor at The Ridgefield Press.
Since then, Lisa has also written and copy edited for The Stamford Advocate, worked as an editor and writer for Sarah Lawrence College on variouspublications, and earned a master's degree in education with certification in social studies.
