A coffee hour is held immediately after every Sunday worship service. Communion is celebrated the first Sunday of every month.</p> <p>The Cornerstone thrift shop operates in the church basement.</p> <p>The Newtown Congregational Preschool, established in 1969, is based at the church but is an independent, nonprofit and non-denominational school that is licensed to teach 3- and 4-year-old students in classes of up to 16 children. Three-year-old students meet twice a week while 4-year-old students meet three times a week. Each class meets for two and a half hours at a time.</p>
