I don't think the focus of this article should be on how many gallons of water to flush, brush yourRead More teeth etc. It SHOULD be on the 54,000 Americans that do not have access to water! Don't you find this to be a total disgrace?

Unfortunately, the article is another example of this Patch reporter's political activism. SheRead More really should have a disclaimer in every story she writes. Expect many more stories along these lines, and expect to be accused of being a Neanderthal when you question them. It is all good and well - pun intended - that the subject of the story and DIGDEEP have undertaken the noble endeavor of helping people gain access to water in underdeveloped countries. However, how they carry out their agenda here in the U.S. should be closely monitored; they are marching under the banner of “human rights” (see their website), and in the lexicon of today’s progressives, human rights is code for collectivism – as in, you will no longer own that pond or lake you thought was part of your property. I don’t know if this is the case with the group at hand, but many similar organizations often have non-profit status and easily gain legal standing in courts to block people from conducting activities on their private property.

Point of the article is Local guy does good, makes sacrifices for the betterment of humanity... TheRead More end. If you think patch needs to be an accurate source for personal water consumption, you are the one "way off base"

Congratulations to the people of Newtown for a job well done. You can be an example to the rest ofRead More our state, especially in our town of Hamden. We still don't have an animal shelter, even after working for it since 2006. It is so discouraging, but you give us hope that it's possible. Thank you for that.

Thank you so much Rick for voting for a Beautiful Baby or two. Can I count on you for a candidateRead More next year? LOL

That's OK Christine. As Shakespeare said, "Sandy Hook, by any other name would smell asRead More sweet."

No I am not perfect, but do know the location of each fire department and their respctive names re:Read More Ms. Bachman; we are not talking about an individual who lives on the other side of the country and screws up, although one might hope basic American History would be known...Thankfully she is OUT of the national political picture. However, if the Boston Patch made the same gaff, it might be time to have a little heart to heart with the editor.

They may try to get fleece also. I am a shelter volunteer and laundry "washer", andRead More fleece is SO much less bulky to wash and especially DRY. Fleece blankets can be cut to smaller pieces. Some people may wish to try to get the fleece "ends" from a fabric store for free.
