Four-year-olds don't get banned; their parents do. If Mumsy were just a bit more practically deviousRead More instead of just a common media-wh**e, she would've copped a disability defense and extruded a little 529-plan dough from this little kerfuffle she cooked up.

the article clearly states the list of products recalled, two of which are organic, so no correctionRead More is warranted.

According to foodsafteynews.com the problem was with a filthy Wawona packing plant. After the plantRead More was cleaned there was no more Listeria present on any fruit. So why does this this article start with the word Organic?
EWCtzn July 24, 2014 at 12:45 am
Kara, the headline reads "Organic Fruit Sold Locally Recalled for Possible ListeriaRead More Contamination". It's clearly sensationalizing the two organic products.

Bachman's bill misses the mark. The fundamental issue here is government overreach. Time and againRead More we see children ripped from good parents while the ones with real need are overlooked.

They did provide a reason. Bad water quality which probably means high bacteria from the storm. I'dRead More rather they close it then let people swim in it.

Sure, if you're the bicyclist you can - and should - do that, I agree. My point was that thisRead More article is about which towns are the safest for bicyclists and so my point was that I'm not sure that just because some towns have task forces, outreach, and engagement actually makes them truly any safer in reality without widening some roads, which are typically pretty narrow in CT, too narrow for cars and bikes to correctly share them.
Lesley July 10, 2014 at 12:23 pm
My apologies. I misunderstood.

Yes, it should follow that "distracted cycling" is against the law - easy enough to findRead More out. Enforcement of laws is certainly important safety of all users of the road, and is recognized as such, but there are four others that are necessary for a Town to become Bike-Friendly, which is the point of the survey initiative. Linda was on to one of the others - Education. For the rest of the "E"s, go to www.bikeleague.org/content/5-es and follow what is happening nation-wide to make cycling a safe and acceptable activity everywhere. As for this initial survey, the results are clearly not very accurate, and hopefully many more people will care to participate next time.

I didn't see any stats about how many bike accidents there were? In Fairfield, we see tons ofRead More bicycles. Most do not follow the rules of the road...they go the wrong way, they fail to signal, they fail to yield the right of way, at stop signs, and most are adults who certainly should know better. Yesterday I saw a man on a scooter, without a helmet, on So. Benson Rd...ON THE PHONE! I really believe that most of the roads, in Fairfield are unsafe for bicycling. It's not the fault of the roads, but traffic is very heavy in this town, and people do not use caution and common sense. I really believe a bike in this town, is extremely dangerous.
