Newtown Youth Academy

<p>The youth academy is a not-for-profit sports center that rents its indoor turf field, track and basketball, tennis and volleyball courts to local leagues and youth sports teams. From 500 to 1,500 children and adults use the academy every day. In addition to sports, the academy offers a fitness center membership.</p> <p>The building was opened in 2008 by Peter D'Amico, a well-regarded soccer coach and Newtown businessman. The academy's director is Keith Miller, who was D'Amico's assistant coach.</p>
