This Weekend's First Food Truck Festival Helps Connecticut Food Banks

Foodies take your mark, get set, and get ready to go to the first annual Connecticut Food Truck Festival. More than 50 food trucks, vendors and entertainers converge upon the North Haven Fairgrounds this weekend to bring you delicious delights.

On July 19 and 20 from 11:00 a.m.-7:00 p.m. foodies will be in heaven as more than 50 food trucks roll up to the North Haven Fairgrounds to bring you their mouthwatering masterpieces.

Every type of food you can imagine will be available for your eating pleasure and it's all for a great cause-- Connecticut's Food Banks. Your $5 entry fee will go toward a monetary donation to local food pantries. Attendees are encouraged to bring a nonperishable food item to help restock dwindling food pantry shelves this summer.

On top of an abundance of foods to try, your kids will have ton of fun stuff to choose, all for free! Face painting, games, a kids' DJ, an obstacle course and much more will keep the wee ones entertained while the parents samples hundreds of offerings from around the world.

In addition to food and games, a local activism group, Jewelry for a Cause, will be selling their "Caliber Collection." This jewelry has gained international recognition for helping to take illegal guns off city streets in America. The group will be at the festival Sunday at 5:00 p.m.

Admission is only $5 for adults (includes parking), kids 17 and under are free (must be accompanied by a parent). Besides service  dogs, pets are not allowed. No alcohol will be served at this event due to liability issues.

The North Haven Fairgrounds are located at 300 Washington Ave., North Haven, CT. For more information about the festival, click here.
