It's a busy week ahead in Newtown. Here's a look at the best events on the schedule for fun, education and illumination:

Facing Parenting with Faith and Courage: Newtown Parent Connection sponsors this learning event for parents facing tough responsibilities, hosted by Norm Bossio. Starts 7:00 p.m. Tuesday at Newtown Middle School.

Balancing or Tipping the Scales of Nature? This program is presented by the Working Women's Forum, featuring Newtown MediSpa owner Debra Sullivan. Starts 6:00 p.m. Wednesday at the Villa Restaurant.

Oleanna: Catch a limited-engagement, black-box performance of David Mamet's controversial play at the Little Theatre Friday night. Curtains go up at 8:00 p.m.

Leaf Project: Budding young botanists and artists can head to EverWonder Children's Experience Saturday for a leaf-making project. Starts 10:00 a.m.

Passport to Sandy Hook: From food to shopping to sightseeing, there's nowhere better than Sandy Hook. Join the fun for the third-annual Passport to Sandy Hook event this Saturday.

Pumpkin Festival: Pumpkins, pumpkins and more pumpkins. Carve them, light them and show them off Saturday night. Cost is $25. See link for details.
