An Old-Fashioned Christmas (Encore): The Good Shepherd Lutheran Church Choir presents an encore of "An Old Fashioned Christmas" on Sunday, January 5th at the 10:30 worship service. Starts 10:30 a.m. Sunday at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Monroe.

Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction: An introduction to living a more balanced and engaged life from Sheila Wall, MSW. At SOUND Healing Arts Center in Hawleyville, Monday, 6:30 p.m.

Chamber of Commerce Before Business Hours: Rebecca Flynn of Big Brothers / Big Sisters will present ideas on how you can make a positive impact this year by partnering with BBBS and support mentoring in your community. Starts 8:00 a.m. Wednesday at Sal y Pepe Restaurant.

What You Eat Really Does Matter: Educator Lisa Swain will be discussing all the ways that nutrition impacts our health, including the importance of a plant-based diet, which foods and beverages to avoid, and how the USDA's current guidelines can improve every aspect of health. Starts 6:00 p.m. Wednesday at the Villa Restaurant in Sandy Hook. $10 for members, $25 for non-members.

The Journey Within: Spiritual author and speaker Cindy Miller gives empowerment tools and intuitive insight. Starts 7:00 p.m. Wednesday at Newtown Congregational Church.

Authentic Yoga: The first in a series of yoga classes from therapist Karen Pierce. Starts 6:00 p.m. Thursday at SOUND Center in Hawleyville. $60 for six weeks.
