NYA Open Play: Schools are closed for Martin Luther King Day, so bring the kids in to the NYA for open play. Drop-off is $10 for K-8, $7 for high school.

KinderCare Open House: KinderCare is offering free registration available January 20th through January 26th. Visit classrooms and meet teachers. Starts Tuesday morning.

Final Solarize Newtown Workshop: This is your last chance to attend a Solarize Newtown workshop to learn if solar is a good way for your family to significantly cut your electric bills and lower your carbon footprint. Starts 6:00 p.m. Tuesday.

Manifesting Our Own Miracles: Tap into the Real magic of our lives with this six-week workshop. Bring a mug for tea. Starts 7:30 Tuesday. $125 for six weeks of sessions.

Ragnar Relay for Beginners: Learn about running long-distance Ragnar Relays. Starts 6:30 Thursday at the NYA Conference Room.

Introduction to Essential Oils: Take control of your health with this introduction to essential oils hosted by Jill's Essentials for Health and Home. Starts 7:30 Thursday at Panera Bread.

When Drummers Were Women: Join this women's empowerment drum circle for an empowering night of female-focused self expression. Cost is $20, $15 if you bring a friend. Starts 7:30 p.m. Friday at Sound Center in Hawleyville.
