This Week in Newtown: Christmas Tree Lighting, Christmas Concert

Here's what's happening this week in Newtown:

Newtown Chamber Breakfast: Join the monthly Newtown Chamber of Commerce breakfast, featuring local accounting firm head Peter Giarratano. Starts 8:00 a.m. Wednesday at Sal y Pepe.

Christmas Tree Lighting: The town will turn out for the Newtown Christmas tree lighting in Ram Pasture. Starts 7:00 p.m. Wednesday.

CycleINPlace Shopping Event: More than a dozen local vendors will be present for a shopping fair at CycleINPlace. Runs Thursday from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.

Sandy Hook Healing Mural: Bethel artist Will Turey created this stained glass mural (pictured above), to be unveiled at Dance Etc. Friday at 4:00 p.m.

Gathering for Worship: A service of prayer and reflection at Newtown Congregational Church with the Newtown Youth Voices Choir. Starts 9:00 a.m. Saturday.

Community Christmas Concert: Invite the spirit of Christmas into your heart with an inspirational concert hosted by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Starts 6:30 p.m. Sunday at 16 Sawmill Road.
