This Week: 9/11 Memorial, Yoga For A Cure

Here's what's going on this week in Newtown:

Tavern Signs: Learn about the awesome, idiosyncratic history of America's golden age of tavern signs in a presentation from C.H. Booth Library's Richard Malley. Starts 7:30 p.m. Monday at the library.

9/11 Memorial Service: Return to the home of Howard Lasher -- just look for the trees on Dodgingtown Road bearing the American flag design -- for a respectful memorial ceremony on the 12th anniversary of the Sept. 11 attacks. Starts 8:00 a.m. Wednesday.

Yoga for a Cure: Drop by Sandy Hook's Graceful Planet Friday for a night of yoga to benefit the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. Starts at 7:00 p.m.; organizers ask for a donation of $25.

Tom, Dick and Harry: The latest play from Newtown's Town Players, described as a "fast-paced British farce," opens Saturday at the Little Theatre. Curtain time is 8:00 p.m. Tickets are $25.

Choir Rehearsals: Think you've got the pipes for the Newtown Choral Society? Join in and prepare for their Dec. 8 concert, "Home for the Holidays." Starts 7:00 p.m. Wednesday.
