Community Corner

Welcome PatchWorks to Newtown!

Local projects need the community's support and here's how you can help.

Patch is proud to announce the launch of PatchWorks, a new neighborhood platform that can help you raise money and recruit volunteers.

Through PatchWorks, your neighbors can create, share and celebrate local projects and causes with the community.

The platform allows participants to recruit and sign up volunteers, collect money online and set up ways to collect donations.

  • WE ARE NEWTOWN is an ongoing endeavor to raise funds for 26 engraved granite benches, cost of installation, and funds for perpetual care of the "Memorial Garden" to honor the victims of the Sandy Hook School shooting. More info here.

  • Sandy Hook Peaceful Arts is planning programing that builds on peace-making skills and instills a sense of well-being for youth and the community at large. They are looking for volunteers, sponsors and donations. More info here.
