VIDEO: Book Sale Inspires Readers and Dealers To Run, Not Walk

There are still plenty of titles available at the CH Booth Book Sale at the Reed Intermediate School

For those who have never experienced the 9 a.m. opening of the CH Booth Book Sale, a video has been provided for the sheer entertainment of it.

“We call it the running of the bulls,” Patsy Beddoe-Stephens, a volunteer of the CH Booth Book Sale, said.  She was referring to the enthusiasm with which dealers and book lovers break into a run as soon as they pass through the sale doors.

Of the 120,000 books originally available, there are still plenty of choice titles to choose from.  There are also movies, CDs, records and popular books of all genres.

According to one volunteer, the purchse of the crown jewel of this year's book sale, a signed copy of the "Hunger Games", is in negotiation.

The sale is held at the Reed Intermediate School, and will be open on Tuesday from 9 a.m. until 7 p.m..  There are still plenty of books to choose from, and on Tuesday, you can fill a bag for $5.

For those willing to gamble on availability of titles and are willing to wait,  books will be free on Wednesday.  Hours on Wednesday are only until noon, so waste no time in getting there.  In fact, run.

I remember years ago that not all of the information about the Kennedy death and assassination wouldRead More not be unsealed until 2017, so why not be able to seal the records of these deaths for the same amount of time?

To further support my support of Aurelia, the letter above states it was the New York Post thatRead More wanted the details. Good for you town clerk! I goggled the Connecticut Council on Freedom of Information and they are indeed nothing more than a non-profit group. They are not a government agency. And an inept one - their own website is a mess. What clowns.- http://ctcouncilfoi.org/

Town Clerk Aurelia is already causing the town to needlessly spend money defending her derelictionRead More of duty: "An attorney representing the town, with the law firm Cohen and Wolf, issued an opinion in response to the, (New York), Post's request stating that the public is only allowed to view death and marriage certificates that are "at least one hundred years old." Cost aside she is pushing for a state law that would restrict access to a minors birth certificate for 6 months, she originally wanted them sealed for 10 years. The only thing the proposed law is going to accomplish is the healing that has been accomplished is going to be undone when the seal expires. This is much ado about nothing. http://www.newstimes.com/local/article/Newtown-officials-withhold-death-certificates-4526713.php
