Certified Pet Therapy Dog: "Maizie Marbles" and Volunteer Owner Available

CERTIFIED PET THERAPY DOG, "MAIZIE MARBLES" & VOLUNTEER OWNER AVAILABLE TO VISIT NEWTOWN COMMUNITY

Dear Members of Newtown Community:

In the last few days I have contacted a few places of worship and the First Selectman's office to volunteer to visit with our certified pet therapy dog, Maizie Marbles. Maizie is a Bearded Collie. She weighs a mere 40 lbs and is wonderful with people and children, gentle and friendly, her breed is known for her playfulness with young people. She is non-shedding and loves to be petted, lie with a patient in a hospital bed, and can do a few "tricks".  She works for "treats" and love.

As most of the country and world has witnessed through the news reports, the sadness in your community is overwhelming. As a mother myself, I decided I must reach out to help in the only way I know how, with Maizie Marbles.  If Maizie Marbles and I can bring some comfort to any organization, group of citizens, school, or place of worship, we would be honored to visit with you.

I am a certified hospice and palliative care volunteer.  Together, Maizie Marbles and I have visited The Maria Fareri Children's Hospital, Westchester Medical Center in Valhalla, St. Cabrini Nursing Home in Dobbs Ferry, and for 11th hour visits at a family's request, for several years.

Our deepest condolensces to you and your families during this heartbreaking and devastating time.  We have been praying for all of you and will continue to hold you in our thoughts and hearts. May God bless you all, always.
