This Week: Haircuts for Kitties, Concert at the Park

A few highlights of what's going on this week.

What's on your schedule this week? We've got a pretty eclectic lineup of stuff to do all throughout the week, so add these to your calendar:

Haircut Fundraiser for Kitties in Need: Come to Salon Michele on 6 Queen Street Tuesday -- your haircut will go to Kitten Associates, a Sandy Hook-based cat rescue group. Runs from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Summer Jam: The concert series at Dickinson Park continues Wednesday with a performance from Robert the Guitar Guy. Starts 6:30 p.m.

Ambulance Center Groundbreaking: There'll be a new Newtown Volunteer Ambulance Emergency Services Center at Fairfield Hills soon. Drop by while you're jogging or walking at Fairfield Hills and see the ceremonial groundbreaking. 6:30 p.m. Monday.

Transcendental Meditation: The David Lynch Foundation presents free introductory presentations on the meditative technique to help with stress relief. 6:30 p.m. Thursday at C.H. Booth Library.

Meet Winnie-the-Pooh: Character breakfasts at My Place continue this week -- kids can come and meet Winnie-the-Pooh Tuesday morning from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Next week: Darth Vader.
