Three Newtown players have made the 2012 Cal Ripken 40/60 All State 12 and under tournament team.
The following local players made the team. Congrats to all of the players!
Middlebury- Ryan Dunfee- Middlebury’s top pitcher averaged 5 strikeouts a game with a 2-1 record and an ERA under 2. Ryan also batted .316 in 24 plate appearances and 5 runs scored.
Middlebury- Will McDonald- Led the Middlebury offense with a .435 average in 24 plate appearances and 1 homerun. Will also had a 1-1 pitching record.
Newtown- Adam Beckett- Posted a .522 average in districts and states with 3 home runs and 16 RBI’s. Adam also posted a 2-0 record in the states with a 1.69 ERA and 10K’s.
Newtown- Harry Eppers- Batted .450 in the states and districts with a .625 on base percentage. Harry had 9 runs in the states.
Newtown- Colby Olson- The top pitcher for Newtown posted 4 wins and 18 strikeouts in 16 innings with a 2.25 ERA. Colby also batted .458 with 1 HR and 11 runs during district and states play.
New Canaan- J.D. Sparks- Was able to hit .500 in both the districts and states. In his two games in States J.D. hit 2 doubles and a home run.
Shepaug- Austin Dutcher- Batted .555 with 10 RBI’s in districts and states while posting a 1.00 ERA and 36 strikeouts as a pitcher over 18 innings.
Shepaug – Nick Fleming- Pitched 17 innings for Shepaug and posted a .500 average with 6 RBI’s.
Shepaug- Kyle Lemay- Batted .400 average in district and states play.
South Meriden- Devyn McCarty- Batted .722 in district and states play. Devyn also had 10 HR’s with 21 runs scored and 33 RBI’s. On the mound Devyn posted 31K’s in 16 innings with a 3-1 record.
South Meriden- Jacob Thiede- Went 3-1 in district and states play with 18K’s in 13 innings. J.T. batted .545 with 3 HR’s and 14 runs.
West Hartford- Avi Erlich- A solid defender behind the plate batted .435 with an OBP of .567.
West Hartford- Ryan Orlowski- Batted .500 in district and states play with an OBP of .519 and a slugging percentage of .846.
