did you train Lanza?
Liam Heller December 15, 2012 at 01:20 am
Well, Eb Swanson... THAT was an ignorant statement.
It turns out that the actual shooter was 20 years old and would not have been allowed to even apply for a pistol course. http://newtown.patch.com/articles/ryan-lanza-wrongly-named-as-mass-murderer-left-to-grieve-21958569

Do the horrific events that occurred today impact your views regarding the issuance of firearms to civilians?

I am all for 2A and concealed carry (have my own permit) but perhaps now isn't the best time for a CCW class? I think it would be better to postpone it a for a week or so out of respect for the victims.

Thank you, Tim. My thoughts exactly.

Six adults at the Sandy Hook School might be alive instead of dead if they had had a gun with them. I believe in background checks for guns permits, no gun permits issued on same day ( because of heat of the moment marital disputes and suicidal thoughts ), concealed carry laws, and mandatory gun training courses which includes ways to safely store guns and the state laws regarding when a person is allowed to shoot to defend themselves or others. Peace to Newtown, Ct.

I appreciate your perspective, Sylvia, however the adults at the school also could have been "outgunned". I don't know anyone that wants to take away pistol ownership or instruction. It is the automatic weapons and large clips that gotta go, along with what you suggested re: background checks and loopholes for gun shows, etcs. I would add mental health check with primary care physician and regulations re: training. Compare weapon ownership to driving an automobile, or at the very least, purchasing cold medicine with phenedryne in it. This would not be difficult to implement. Peace and love to Newtown. Still in thoughts and prayers.

Why is it the panel for this event does not include a single advocate for gun-owners' rights? WithRead More all due respect to Chief McNamara, why does the panel no include a person who can speak to gun safety from a gun-owning civilian's perspective? ML, you claim that the assembled folks "do not offer judgements about gun ownership" but they are not including a single voice that can offer perspective on gun ownership. I have been to "education" sessions sponsored by Meg's March for Change and they are one-sided indoctrinations into gun control advocacy. >>>> I was in Hartford for the public hearings in January when both Meg and March co-founder Nancy gave their personal testimonies and they all but threatened the legislators on the panel with election day retribution for all those who did not tow the gun-control line of thinking (i.e. March and CAGV). To suggest that Meg "does not offer judgements" is fallacious and disingenuous.
