The Newtown Parks and Recreation Department will hold its 38th Annual Rocking Rooster Run 5K on June 16th, 2012. The 3.1 mile course starts and finishes at the Newtown Municipal Center and winds out and back and through a portion of Fairfield Hills, including the trail. The race will begin at 8:00 a.m. This is a family friendly event that appeals to runners of all ages and levels of ability. Pre-Registration Cost is $20 for adults and $15 for students and the cost day of the race is $25 for adults and $20 for students. The first 350 registrants receive a race T-shirt and there will be a trophy presentation at the conclusion of the event. All of the race proceeds benefit the Newtown Scholarship Association.
