No School In Newtown Today, Dec. 10

Newtown students have their first snow day of the school year.

All public schools will be closed today, Dec. 10, due to inclement weather. The district had a two-hour delayed opening yesterday.

What do you plan on doing with the kids today?

We certainly would have had school when I was a kid. Plus I walked 5 miles each way uphill!

10 miles up Hill both ways! Seriously though, I am not sure what to do, not enough snow to go sledding. I am thinking bake Christmas cookies!!!

The roads definitely are slick, though. There was a two-car accident at the intersection of Glen Road and Walnut Tree Hill at about 10:20 a.m. No apparent injuries, thankfully. I also slid a bit coming down Riverside. You're right, Lauryn, really not enough to go sledding, but it is good packing snow ... so a good old-fashioned snowball fight or a small snowman maybe. We made one that was about 1-foot tall with my 2-year-old this morning :)
