Newtown Schools in Session Tomorrow, Nov. 5

After a week off due to Hurricane Sandy, Superintendent of Schools Janet Robinson announces that students will return to the classroom tomorrow.

Newtown Superintendent of Schools Janet Robinson just announced that schools will be in session tomorrow, Nov. 5. She shared the news on her Twitter account.

The decision comes after school bus routes were determined to be safe during an assessment of conditions on the ground earlier today. According to First Selectman Pat Llodra, 15 line crews and 10 tree crews continue to work to restore power in Newtown.

CL&P's latest outage report shows that 11% of the town (1,242 customers) still does not have power. It's now been seven days since Hurricane Sandy hit the East Coast and left an unprecedented level of destruction in its wake.
