HOM PTA Gets Out the Vote for Books
Head O' Meadow School students got their chance to vote Monday.
Classes of students at Head O' Meadow School got their first chance to vote Monday, one day before their parents are set to do the same thing during Tuesday's townwide budget referendum.
The school's PTA held its fourth annual Vote for Books event as a way to teach students what it means to vote, giving them the choice of two lists of books. The list that receives the most votes will be purchased by the PTA for inclusion to the school library.
With categories such as unusual pets, myths and legends and graphic novels, the blue list of books seemed to be the clear favorite over how-to, language and history books on the red list, which didn't appear to have mass appeal.
