Help the School District Pick A New Superintendent

Got a strong opinion on the kind of superintendent Newtown needs at the helm of its public schools? You can let the Board of Education know what you think right now -- and it only takes a few minutes.

Take the survey online now at the Newtown School District's website.

In the coming months, the board will be bringing in community members for perspectives on who should replace Interim Superintendent John Reed, school officials said at a Board of Education meeting Tuesday. The board is partnering with CABE (the Connecticut Association of Boards of Education) for the search.

The five-question survey should take under 10 minutes to complete. It is open to students, parents, teachers, administrators and the general community.

Sample questions:

  • What areas of expertise and dimensions of district leadership/management are most important in the next superintendent?
  • What do you consider to be the two most significant strengths of the Newtown Public Schools?
  • What do you consider to be the two most important issues or challenges facing the Newtown Public Schools?
The survey will remain open until October 14.
