BOE Could Act on Reed's Budget Proposal Tonight

Superintendent John Reed's proposed school budget could make its way forward tonight when the Newtown Board of Education holds a budget workshop.

The meeting will take place at 7:30 p.m. on Feb. 6 in the municipal offices at Fairfield Hills, 3 Primrose St. The agenda calls for discussion and possible action on the budget.

Late last month Reed, the district's outgoing interim superintendent, presented a 2014-15 education budget that represents a 0.75% increase over current spending.

More information about the budget proposal can be found in this Patch article.
