The S.H.A.C.K. Sandy Hook Arts Center for Kids Offers Healing, Safe Haven for Community

The S.H.A.C.K., Sandy Hook Arts Center for Kids, will be located in Sandy Hook center and will offer free art, music and pet therapy as well as low cost art, music and theatre classes for children.

The S.H.A.C.K.,which stands for the Sandy Hook Arts Center for Kids, was established by a group of Newtown High School alumni from the Class of 1987. We are a charitable organization, volunteer-run, and in the process of obtaining our 501(c)3 status. In the meantime, we have partnered with 2 already established 501(c)3 organizations, Animal Assisted Therapy, Inc. and Arts for Healing, to provide free art, music and pet therapy. We will be located in Sandy Hook center and will also offer low cost art, music and theatre classes for children.

The S.H.A.C.K. invites the community to our first FREE art event on Mon. Jan. 21 from 10am-5pm at Fun Kuts, 111 Church Hill Rd.

Children will make a peace sign craft to symbolize World Peace and carry on Martin Luther King’s vision of a peaceful nation. Activities: Peace sign painting, face painting, puppet show, healing drum circle, a visit from a therapy dog from Animal Assisted Therapy Services, Inc. & more! 

EVERYONE needs to RSVP via email. Sandy Hook families are given first priority.

Slot #4) 2-4 art & drum circle

- drum circle 2-2:45, therapy dog 3-4

Slot #5) 4-5 therapy dog & art 

***HAIRCUTS & ART ALL DAY!. 

Please email sandyhookartscenter@gmail.com with the time your family is coming so we can be sure we have room for everyone. 

Cost: FREE, however cash donations for start-up costs for The SHACK’s permanent location in Sandy Hook center will be accepted.

You're acting like the Connecticut Council on Freedom is a government agency. It is a non-profit foundation and the quote from James Smith is only an opinion. It certainly does NOT carry any more weight than anyone else's, including mine, the victim's families, and the vast majority of decent people living in this town.
