A Day to Reflect
Ten years ago our country was attacked by terrorists and nearly 3000 innocent people perished. Let us reflect.
Ten years ago today our nation was attacked on our soil by terrorists. It was the saddest day in my life and it still is emotional to think about the sight of the Twin Towers ultimately collapsing and all those who were affected. The footage of the Pentagon smoldering was very disturbing because of its symbolism for the military and national security.
The story of Flight 93, where brave passengers stormed the cockpit to avert another potential missile of jet fuel possibly into the White House, was very moving. Too, too many lives were lost on that day.
One positive that came of this horrible day in United States history is how we as a nation came together, put politics aside to mourn, and resolve to rebuild. Flags were flying everywhere. Patriotic pins were on lapels. Candlelight vigils were at dusk.

It should not take a tragedy of such magnitude to bring us together and reignite our individual patriotism. We live in the greatest country in the world. Let us never forget those souls that perished on that historic day. Please remember those brave men and women that have sacrificed to keep our country safe since that day. Please pray for those first responders that helped after that attack and especially those that have passed.
God Bless America.
