Health & Fitness

It is so hard being a parent.

You are not handed a manual with your baby when you leave the hospital.  Parents, are you feeling challenged with tantrums? whining? bedtime routines? sibling conflicts? power struggles?

Is it hard to leave the park? shop for groceries?

Do you wish you connected more and argued less?

You are not alone!  No matter what age or stage or kids are at, we can all use some help figuring this parenting stuff out!

In June of 2013, 28 Brookfield school staff, community leaders and parents were trained to teach “Parenting the Positive Discipline Way”.  Now you can join parents just like you, all over Western Connecticut, for 6 weeks of parenting classes.

Learn to discipline with firmness where you set boundaries, and kindness, where you show love and respect. At. The. Same. Time.

You will have fun as a parent, and set the foundation for important social and life skills. Help your child feel a sense of belonging and significance through mutual respect and encouragement.  I can honestly say what I learned has profoundly changed all of my relationships, including those with my adult children.

The end results are fantastic!  Children misbehave less, because they feel a more positive connection.  They are more likely to listen to you, because they will feel more listened to.  They will achieve success and long term self esteem and empowerment, because you will learn how to encourage instead of simply praise.  All of our children can be responsible, respectful and resourceful!
