The town has released a schedule for storm debris pickup, which officials said was aggressive because they want all of the work done prior to the arrival of any more snow.
The release of the schedule is highly anticipated by residents, many of whom are looking for a way to remove large branches that have been left on their property. The debris must only be yard waste from the Oct. 29 snow storm, officials said. Crews will not go onto private property to pick up any of the debris.
"This is a mandatory requirement by FEMA for the Town to receive reimbursement," according to a press release First Selectman Pat Llodra issued. "Please cooperate with us in this matter for the good of the town."
All debris also must be placed within 5-feet of the curb with broken or butt end of limbs facing the curb, according to officials.
