Newtown Public Works Department crews started road work on five streets this week and will be refurbishing the curbs and sidewalks in Sandy Hook Center from now through the summer.

Crews are also preparing to start reconstruction work on Eden Hill Road (duration: one month), tree pruning around Fairfield Hills (three weeks) and drainage work in two areas of Valley Field Road (three weeks), though the schedules for those jobs have not been set.
