Poll Shows Obama With Big Lead in CT, Malloy Unpopular

The president has a wide lead over Republican challenger Mitt Romney. Also, people surveyed rank Gov. Dannel P. Malloy as one of the most unpopular governors in the nation.

Public Policy Polling says that Connecticut will go to Obama in the general election, but the president’s popularity in the state has dropped dramatically since he was elected.

The president has a 54-41 lead, but won the state in 2008 by 28 points. A June Quinnipiac Poll showed Obama with a similar 50-38 lead.

The survey asked about Connecticut’s other politicians, and some fared better than others. U.S. Sen. Richard Blumenthal remains popular, with a 53 percent approval rating. Outgoing U.S. Sen. Joe Lieberman has a 40 percent approval rating, while 40 percent also disapprove.

Malloy’s prospects appeared much more bleak with a mere 32 percent approval rating. The poll shows Malloy trailing a generic Republican opponent by  a 42-38 margin should he choose to run again in 2014.

He's sending our troops back to Iran... http://www.nytimes.com/2012/09/25/world/middleeast/iraq-faces-new-perils-from-syrias-civil-war.html?ref=world&_r=1& http://thenewamerican.com/usnews/foreign-policy/item/13000-us-troops-deployed-in-iraq-again He promised he'd pull them all out by 2009. He didn't remove our uniformed soldiers until 2012 and kept the private contractors/mercenaries there. They're STILL there! Now, he's sending MORE troops back? THOUSANDS of the anti-Bush people were out in DROVES, attacking his illegally declared war, out in front of the White House, back when he was in office. And *I* was one of them! The media railed into him non-stop, along with all those gung-ho liberals who used his act of war against Iran, as a means to attack him as publicly and as often as possible. Well... Where are you now?
Liam Heller September 28, 2012 at 09:03 PM
Where are you people NOW, now that your gift from Heaven has not only continued this Iraq war, but began/continued other ones in Afghanistan, Pakistan, Yemen, Libya, Syria, Uganda, inevitably Iran, his support of the Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt, PLUS his UNRELENTING attack on the Constitution of the United States?!?!?!? Where are your anti-war protests NOW?!?!?!?!? Bush was called a “war monger”, by every liberal under the Sun, as he continued to keep us involved militarily in other countries. Obama has continued those SAME undeclared AND unconstitutional “wars"! He has also started many others! We are now bombing and will continue to drop bombs in many countries. Obama has bombed people in Iraq, Pakistan, Libya, Afghanistan, Yemen, numerous African countries, and others. Where are the peace parades and editorials by the liberal left? Where are the complaints by the media? I see bumper stickers with peace signs inside the "O" in Obama campaign stickers. Do you have ANY idea how PROFOUNDLY hypocritical that is?!?!?! Where are the “Obama lied, people died” bumper stickers? Why aren’t liberals calling Obama a “war monger"? >: (
Liam Heller September 28, 2012 at 09:04 PM
This is Barack Obama, the winner of the Nobel Peace Prize, who has bombed and is CURRENTLY bombing more people and more countries than ANY other president in the history of this country! And you don't agree that these actions are offensive? Liberals are hypocritical to no end, even when they know that their hypocrisy is completely noticeable. These politicians will certainly talk enough peace during election season, gather their hippie voters and then use their power to bomb countries so they aren’t considered “weak” when the votes are cast. Why were you liberals protesting George Bush, Dick Cheney, and their administrations whenever they decided (without Congressional approval) to go kill people in other countries? Why aren't you protesting now? You certainly can’t argue that the new “wars” that Obama has participated in are Bush’s fault? Yet I wouldn't be surprised if you did.

"He's sending our troops back to Iran...". I think you mean Iraq. Bit of a different situation.
Chucky_D September 30, 2012 at 09:06 PM
I call Obama "Bush-3" since he has done NONE of the "anti-Bush" things he ran on - and claims the continuing economic decay is Bush's fault !
Mason September 30, 2012 at 09:21 PM
Literally Bush may have been the biggest waste of time this world produced. BUSH single handedly put us into a "war on terror" when I'm still not sure what to even say about that bs. Obama has taken the crappy leftovers that Bush left from his presidency and made the best out of his first term. Please remember, he never said change would come immediately, but he's doing it as efficiently as possible. I have a problem with people who are too quick to the trigger to judge him, we haven't seen this kind of judgemental nature with past presidents. He is the leading force for the fact that unemployment rates have dropped consistently, the economy is growing after our economic downturn in 08. Don't tell me he's bush-3, he's more like Bush + anything because bush is a egg head.
Big Family September 30, 2012 at 11:31 PM
Mason, President Obama said if he did not turn this around in three years it would be a one term proposition. You have a problem that people are to quick to judge him? Four years is half a Presidency and eight years is a complete Presidency, when should he be judged? One word...Carter. And BTW...George W.Bush IS NOT PRESIDENT.
Mason September 30, 2012 at 11:38 PM
What do you mean Bush wasn't president? I'm referring to George H.W. Bush aka (2000-2008) .....? Hey big family, why don't you do me a favor and run for president cause I'll judge you then! Bush didn't nearly receive as much heat during his 2 terms then obama has got in 1. Name things bush did that benefitted us...! I mean I guess it's really easy to be the president and all, so were fair to judge cause we have an idea of whats its like to be in that position? Obama is not perfect and no candidate or president has been, but I will tell you there's no way Romney is getting my vote...and if you want a debate on why Obama is the best option for another term, i'll gladly tell you.
Big Family September 30, 2012 at 11:47 PM
Wow!... I would ask you to send over whatever you're drinkin but I'm kinda scared of it.
Mason October 01, 2012 at 12:20 AM
you don't make any sense...
Big Family October 01, 2012 at 12:40 AM
I make sense, you just don't understand it or choose not to.
Mason October 01, 2012 at 03:47 AM
You said George Bush is not president...I never said he currently was. I clearly stated his past has left remnants in Obama's first term. Before you start harping on politics, learn to form and present concise thoughts.
Big Family October 01, 2012 at 11:39 AM
Mason, You should google George H W Bush and find out when he was president. And if there was a Republican in the White House with the conditions that exist today the mainstream liberal media would lead the way to impeachment. Do what the Doctors tell you and take your medications.
