Malloy: Sandy Hook Report Timeline On The Way

Officials have said they expect the report by September.

Gov. Dannel Malloy says he'll soon have a timeline for release of police reports on the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting, according to a report from NBC Connecticut.

"I'm going to get a timeline report next week and I'll share that with everybody else," Malloy told NBC. The timeline is expected to include a release date for a long-delayed report on the events of Dec. 14.

In March, Malloy chided some lawmakers who requested the police report be released soon, on the heels of a New York Daily News story in which an anonymous source described the shooter's method and preparations at a police conference.

"I must ask: what more could you possibly need to know?" he said in a statement released at that time. The full state police report has been delayed since then.

Despite the delay, state and Newtown police continue to speak about the shooting across the country, according to the Hartford Courantfrom California to Tennessee. Danbury State's Attorney Stephen Sedensky, who will handle the official release of the report, has said he expects it by September.

The State of Connecticut's Judicial Branch released some documents related to a search of the shooter's house in May at Malloy's request, including a list of hundreds of seized items.
