Llodra: Where to Pick Up Water, Ice and Find Help

First Selectman Pat Llodra issues advisory on where to find water and what to do to get help.

Bottled water and ice will be available at Reed Intermediate School on Trades Lane Wednesday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., First Selectman Pat Llodra said.

Anyone in need of a service or support that a volunteer can help should call the first selectman's office at 203-270-4202. Volunteers are on standby to help.

The elderly and disabled in need of help should also immediately contact the first selectman at 203-270-4201.

The town also might consider providing water that can be used to fill toilets in the homes of elderly or disabled residents who lack power and can't run their well system. Call 203-270-4201 for more information. The town is trying to gauge whether there is enough of a need for such a service among the frail residents of Newtown, officials said.

Editor's note: This article has been updated to include information about the availability of water for use in toilets.
