Llodra and Rodgers Running for Re-Election

First Selectman Pat Llodra announced today she will run for a third term, joined by Selectman Will Rodgers.

"The challenges and hurdles we face now and in the coming months and years are best managed by leadership that is experienced, informed and capable," said Llodra in a statement. "I believe I have those qualities and am able to help Newtown address the issues and problems ahead. It is an honor and a privilege to me to serve this community, this special place that means so much to me."

Llodra said Rodgers, also running for re-election, has been "of invaluable assistance both before and after 12/14."

Llodra said most members of town boards and the Legislative Council would also be seeking re-election.

"Together, we offer Newtown stability in the face of great change, along with the experience and wisdom needed to face many challenges," Llodra said, citing the development of the Fairfield Hill campus and the "pressing capital needs" for a police station, community center and senior center.
