One candidate is running on her record while the other is saying that record is broken.
Robert Dombroski, a Democrat, is running his campaign without the benefit of public financing as he didn't raise enough initial funds to meet that threshhold, the Monroe Courier reports. He says it's an uphill battle to unseat DebraLee Hovey, a five-term Republican representing the 112th District.
Hovey, an educational consultant, serves as the Assistant Minority Leader in the House of Representatives and sits on three committees. She is also active among local civic organizations, according to her profile on the Connecticut House Republicans' website.
Dombroski says government can be leaner and that there needs to be more of a focus on the middle class. An attorney, he was born and raised in Connecticut, according to the Courier.
