Campaign Notebook: Hopeful Manufacturers Take Murphy's Survey

News and updates from the campaign trail in Connecticut.

Chris Murphy (D) was joined by U.S. Sen. Richard Blumenthal in Hartford to release the findings of a manufacturers’ survey. In total, 191 manufacturers in Connecticut responded. The survey showed 77 percent were confident in the future.

"This report gives us the data we need to make the case for Connecticut manufacturing to policy-makers in Washington and across the country,” Murphy said. “We will use this information to push for policies that will create jobs in Connecticut and fight against policies that will ship Connecticut manufacturing jobs overseas.”

The Linda McMahon (R) campaign criticized the press conference and told Murphy to “stop the campaign stunts and produce a jobs plan.”

Fifth District

In a message to supporters, Andrew Roraback says that “even liberals call 5th District seat a toss-up.”  He said that the Daily Kos, a left leaning blog, changed the race from “leaning” Democratic to “toss-up.”

Unsurprisingly, Elizabeth Esty recently received the backing of Connecticut’s congressional delegation, all of whom are Democrats.
