Woman Charged with Credit Card Theft, Larceny

Newtown Police arrest a 23-year-old Bethel woman on multiple charges.

A 23-year-old Bethel woman was arrested by warrant March 17 on multiple larceny and credit card theft charges.

Newtown Police said her arrest stems from various incidents that took place in town in July 2013; no further details were immediately available.

The woman, Ana (Padalino-Bush) Sweeney, of 211 Greenwood Ave. in Bethel, was charged with:

  • fifth-degree larceny
  • sixth-degree larceny (two counts)
  • credit card theft (two counts)
  • illegal use of a credit card (two counts)
  • receipt of goods obtained by illegal use of a credit card (two counts)

Sweeney was released on a $5,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in court on April 1.
