Weekend Police Blotter, June 25 - 27

Police release news release on driving under the influence, school graffiti and other incidents.

Church Hill Road: A Toyota sedan, driven by Linda Fan, 73, of Sanford Road, Woodbury, drove into a barrier in front of a pump at the Mobil Gas Station, 62 Church Hill Road, at about 6:45 a.m., Sunday, police said. Fan, who had been traveling on Interstate 84, told police that she had felt a problem with the brake and gas pedals and had turned into the gas station when she was unable to stop her car from hitting the barrier, officials said. A passenger had to be taken to Danbury Hospital with neck pain, police said. Fan was issued a summons for carrying inadequate insurance.

Church  Hill Road: A Mitsubishi Montero, operated by Kristine Ngov, 20, of 6 Maridon Drive, Brookfield, collided with a Chevrolet Blazer, operated by Edward Damico Jr., 19, of 64 Forest Drive, by the intersection of Church Hill and Walnut Tree Hill roads at about 5 p.m., Friday, police said. The Montero was attempting to pass another vehicle on the right at the time, police said. Ngov was issued a written warning for unsafe passing. Both were taken to Danbury Hospital with various neck, arm and knee pain, officials said.

Dodgingtown Road: Commercial dumpsters at the Housatonic Valley Waldorf School were vandalized with grafitti sometime over the weekend, police said. Anyone with information on the incident are asked to contact the police department at 203-426-5841 and reference case no. 2010-7904

Marlin Road: Bianca Gabriel Zanghi, 18, of 80 Marlin Road, and her 16-year-old brother were charged with disorderly conduct in connection with a dispute between the two at about 8:30 p.m., Friday, police said. The brother was not identified because of his age. The two were released on a written promise to appear June 28 in state Superior Court in Danbury.

South Main Street: Juarez Caetano, 52, of 793 Grand St., Bridgeport, was charged with operating under suspension, driving under the influence, interfering and disorderly conduct following a motor vehicle stop on South Main Street at about 4:40 p.m., Friday, police said. The vehicle he was driving was observed crossing the center lines repeated, police said. He was released on a $200 bond and is to appear July 13 in state Superior Court in Danbury. Caetano was additionally charged with illegal possession of a small scupper/flounder and failure to plead or pay an infraction in connection with an arrest warrant issued for a fishing incident that occurred on August 30, 2008, police said. He was released on $100 bond on those charges and is to appear July 14 in state Superior Court in Danbury.
