Sandy Hook Man Found in Ditch, Charged With DUI

The following arrest information was supplied by the Connecticut State Police. It does not indicate a conviction.

State police discovered a motor vehicle in a ditch at the intersection of Rt. 67 and South St. in Roxbury during routine patrol shortly after 3 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 22.

According to police, the operator of the vehicle that had driven off the road was Brian Barrett, 27, of Sandy Hook. After a brief investigation Barrett was charged with DUI and failure to drive in the proper lane.

Barrett did not suffer any injuries in the accident. He was released on $1,000 non-surety bond and is scheduled to appear in Bantam Court on October 15.
