A man claiming to have stolen a sign from a playground dedicated to Sandy Hook shooting victim Grace McDonnell, apparently called her mother to say he did so because he believes the tragic shooting never happened.

CBS reports that the 50-pound sign was stolen last Tuesday, about a week after the opening of the playground at the YMCA in Mystic, Conn.

The playground is one 26 being built throughout the tri-state area through The Sandy Ground Project: Where Angels Play. The shooting at Sandy Hook School, on Dec. 14, 2012, claimed the life of 20 first graders and six educators — and each park is being named in honor of a victim.

A replacement peace sign has been ordered for Grace's playground, according to CBS.

We have an original article with no direct quote from the McDonnells...we have no proof of a caller let alone a "truther"...and in the police blotter right below this article we have another sign stolen on April 29 from a sign store...yet no one brings this up in connection with the other theft? Why? Lest people think that this was just another random theft unconnected to some larger conspiracy?

I am not a resident of Newtown and have said before that I never post on the Patch except when evil Sandy Hook hoaxers appear. I have recently seen a hoax poster using my last name "Bowie" and "thelonious", and another (possibly the same evil one) using my first name: Mike. I logged into nodisinfo.com and found the most terrible things ever written about the children, women, and families. I told that website, using my real name that I would spare no effort or expense to destroy and take down that website. So now the hoaxers have appropriated my name and are using it to discredit me. I have been to Newtown, attended a Mass at St Rose's, and brought pink roses to St Rose's Cemetary to honor the children there. In my grief for what happened, I've always been a friend to Newtown. Please disregard any use of my real name by hoaxers. They are evil and cause harm for everyone. I will destroy that site and others if possible. Thanks for reading, Mike Bowie. PS- the "8" appears in my name due to having large hands and have tried to get the Patch to erase it to no avail.
