Police: Witness Says Car Struck Dog In Sandy Hook

Newtown police are investigating an alleged accident last night in Sandy Hook in which a witness told police a car hit a dog and left the scene.

According to reports, police are looking for a tan Volkswagen convertible with a dark top involved in the scene, at about 8:21 p.m. Thursday night near St. John's Episcopal Church in Sandy Hook. The car was traveling northbound at the time, according to reports.
