Police: Vandals Smashed Car Windows in Overnight Spree

Newtown police say windows were smashed on multiple roads in Sandy Hook early Sunday morning.

In the early morning hours of Sunday, August 18, police started receiving reports of vandalism from all across an area of Sandy Hook. The complaints were the same: someone was smashing out car windows in the area. Police are now looking for the vandals or vandals responsible.

According to police, reports came in between about 3:11 a.m. Sunday and 3:45 a.m. Sunday. Police say the incidents appeared random, with cars in driveways and on the side of the road both hit. Suspects used "an unknown blunt object" to smash out windows of cars, according to police.

  • Jeremiah Road
  • Clapboard Ridge Road
