Cops Flag Car for Speeding, Men Throw Bags of Cocaine Out the Window: Police

State Police from the Brewster barracks arrested John G. Lewis, Jr., 28, of Newtown, CT and Raul P. Albuquerque, 31, of Danbury CT, May 10 following a traffic stop on Interstate 84 for speeding. 
 
Just prior to Troopers stopping the vehicle at 1:40 a.m., several bags later identified as cocaine, were thrown from the passenger side window of the suspect vehicle. The bags were located and recovered utilizing a State Police drug detection canine.
 
Lewis and Albuquerque were charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 4thDegree, a Class C Felony, Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance with Intent To Sell 3rdDegree, a Class B Felony and Tampering with Physical Evidence, a Class E Felony.  Lewis was additionally charged with Driving While intoxicated and speeding.
 
Both subjects were arraigned in the Town of Southeast Justice Court before Town Justice Richard Vercollone and remanded to Putnam County Jail in lieu of $10,000 bail or $20,000 bond. They are both scheduled to appear in court on May 13, 2014.
