Police: DUI Driver in Oncoming Lane on Poverty Hollow Rd

Police arrested a Newtown man for DUI after responding to calls about a car on Poverty Hollow Road driving northbound in the southbound lane, according to reports.

Police say Samuel Testa, 51, was "driving erratically" while heading into Newtown from Redding Thursday night. Witnesses allegedly told dispatchers the car was traveling northbound while "completely in the southbound lane."

Police pulled Testa over at Poverty Hollow and Hattertown, according to reports. After investigation, he was arrested for driving under the influence and failure to drive right.

Police reports are based on information from the Newtown Police Department and do not indicate conviction or guilt.
