Police Blotter: Woman Vs. Flagpole, Credit Card Fraud, and Black Box

The Newtown Police Department responded to a one car accident with the flagpole at the intersection of Main Street and Church Hill Road.
Christyne A. Velez, 50, of Roosevelt Drive, Trumbull was driving a 2004 Dodge Durango and was traveling west on Church Hill Road. When she attempted to turn left into the southbound land on Main Street, she hit the flagpole on the front of the driver’s side of the car. Velez did not suffer injuries, and the flagpole is still standing.

On July 24, Raymond James Page, 38, Walnut Tree Hill, Newtown, turned himself in to Newtown Police on a warrant from a Southbury incident. Charges included credit card theft, three counts of Credit Card Fraud,three counts of Larceny 6th, and Failure to Appear 2nd. Page was held on a $25,000 bond and was to be arraigned on July 25.

On July 24, a black box containing five meters near the intersection of South Main St and Mile Hill Road. Police did not identify what kind of meters they were, however, the owner can contact the Newtown Police.
