Police Blotter: Shot Fired, Possession of Weapons in Vehicle

On July 27, at about 9:45 p.m., James Collier, 30, of Smoke Rise Ridge, Newtown, was charged with Disorderly Conduct, Illegal Discharge of a Weapon and two counts of Weapons in a Vehicle.  An investigation by Newtown Police found that Collier had fired a shot into the ground outside of his home, and then left the area. Police found Collier on Westover Road in possession of a gun and two additional weapons.

Collier was given a tentative court date of July 30, and was held on a $50,000 bond.
