Police Blotter, Jan. 15, 2012

The following information was supplied by the Newtown police department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

Philo Curtis Road: A Volkswagen Golf, operated by Roy Scheunemann, 23, of Clearview Drive, veered off of the roadway and struck a tree and stone wall in the area of 6 Philo Curtis Road at about 8:10 p.m., Sun., Jan. 15, police said. Scheunemann was taken to Danbury Hospital with possible head injuries, which was not identified as serious, according to the police report. The incident remains under investigation, police said.

Philo Curtis Road: Renaldo Rodriguez, 52, of Philo Curtis Road, was charged with disorderly conduct, third-degree assault and interfering with an emergency call in connection with a domestic dispute at about 3:15 p.m., Sun., Jan. 15, police said. He was released on $100 bond and was to appear Jan. 17 in state Superior Court in Danbury.

Police Department: Police are reminding residents that a set of tools in their case was found near the intersection of South Main Street and Mile Hill road on June 18, 2011. Anyone missing the items can contact the police department at 203-426-5841.

Sugar Street: Charles Dossantos, 38, of Dodgingtown Road, was charged with issued an infraction for traveling too fast, possession of a small amount of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia after his vehicle was stoped on Sugar Street traveling 52 mph in a 40 mph zone at about 7:30 p.m., Sun., Jan. 15, police said. A police canine was used to detect the marijuana in the vehicle, police said.

I goggled the Connecticut Council on Freedom of Information and they are indeed nothing more than a non-profit group. They are not a government agency. And an inept one - their own website is a mess. Town Clerk Aurelia is already causing the town to needlessly spend money defending her derelictionRead More of duty: "An attorney representing the town, with the law firm Cohen and Wolf, issued an opinion in response to the, (New York), Post's request stating that the public is only allowed to view death and marriage certificates that are "at least one hundred years old." Cost aside she is pushing for a state law that would restrict access to a minors birth certificate for 6 months, she originally wanted them sealed for 10 years. The only thing the proposed law is going to accomplish is the healing that has been accomplished is going to be undone when the seal expires.
