Police Blotter: Drugs or Alcohol Caused One-Car Accident

According to a dispatch from the Newtown Police Department, a woman failed to handle a curve due to driving under the influence.

According to a report from the Newtown Police Department, a 20-year-old Shelton woman ended up off the road on a right curve due to driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol.

Police say they responded to the scene at Lakeview Terrace after someone called to report a car had ended up off the road. They allegedly found Megan McGarry of Shelton behind the wheel and under the influence of either alcohol or drugs. Since McGarry was also too young to drink, according to reports, she was charged with Driving Under the Influence (Under 21) and Failure to Drive Right on a Curve.
