Newtown Police Blotter: Copper Thieves, Dirt Bikes and Sign Stolen

A few of the most recent police reports from Newtown Police:

Individuals have been entering the Cochran House at Fairfield Hills, 21 Mile Hill South, and removing copper piping and wiring. Police said the thefts may have taken place over the past few weeks, although the exact time span is unknown. Anyone with information is asked to call police at 203-426-5841.

Two dirt bikes were stolen from the property at 28 Wills Road sometime overnight on April 30 into May 1. Police said both bikes were Hondas — one was a blue and white YZ125. The other was recovered on May 2 nearby. Anyone with information is asked to call police at 203-426-5841.

Superior Windowland's sign — 3 feet by 7 feet — was stolen sometime between 8:30 a.m. and noon on April 29. The sign, located at Simm Lane and South Main Street, is blue wood with white letters reading Superior Windowland. Police said a witness reported seeing two white males in a white pickup truck remove the sign. Anyone with information is asked to call Officer John McCluskey at 203-426-5841.

A Mercury car key was found on the side of Poverty Hollow Road near the town line with Redding. It was turned into police, and may be retrieved by calling Officer Mulhall at 203-426-5841.
