Newtown Man Charged With Possession of Child Pornography

Police say the arrest came about through their investigation into a reported domestic disturbance.


A Newtown man was scheduled to appear in Danbury Superior Court yesterday on charges of possession of child pornography and disorderly conduct.

Police have not released many details about the case, as the investigation remains open. The arrest, made at 4:34 p.m. on Nov. 14, came about through officers' investigation into a domestic dispute that reportedly took place on Nov. 6.

The man arrested, David Eric Anderson, 44, of 3 Lafayette Road, was picked up at Danbury Hospital, according to police.

He was charged with possession of child pornography, which, police said, involves a case that took place between 2011 and 2012, and disorderly conduct, which involves an incident that took place on Nov. 6. Anderson was released on a $100,000 surety bond.
